Weather and time
This camera overlooks the Yozawa River in a wooded mountain valley at Otsu in Akiruno, western Tokyo. Clear green water pools beside a small moss-covered weir, and steep forested slopes fill the upper half of the frame.
The station takes its name from the Komiya Furusato Nature School in the Komiya area of Akiruno. Komiya Elementary School stands about 80 m away, and Otsu Post Office is a short walk along the road. The rock known as Tennoiwa lies roughly 500 m off. The Yozawa River is a tributary of the Akigawa River, which drains this part of the Tama mountains.
The camera sits behind a green guardrail above the stream and looks across a pebbly bank to the weir. A slim gauge post leans against the rock wall at the water's edge, a signboard stands among the shrubs on the left, and yellowing leaves mix with the green undergrowth.
