Weather and time
This camera overlooks a shallow stretch of the Hirai River just upstream of Horiguchi Bridge in Okuno, Hinode, Tokyo. A small pool of water lies in a concrete-lined channel beside a flight of wide stone steps.
Okuno is a district of Hinode, a town in Nishitama District in western Tokyo. Okuno Elementary School stands about 100 m away, the temple Tenshoji about 150 m away, and the Okutama Akiruno Line, a main road, runs a short walk from the camera. The Hirai River rises on Mount Hinode and joins the Tama River in Akiruno.
The view looks down on the channel from close range, with a row of stone blocks leading down the left bank toward the water. A gravel path curves along the grassy bank on the right, and a thicket of shrubs closes the view at the top of the frame.
