Weather and time

This camera looks over the Akigawa River at Yamada in Akiruno, where the stream bends through a wide grassy floodplain. A paved embankment slope with a white railing runs along the left edge of the frame, and a driving range net rises above the trees on the far bank.

The station is in the Yamada district of western Tokyo. Yamada Ground lies about 150 m away, the Yamada Ohashi Campsite about 200 m, and Zenshoji Temple roughly 300 m from the camera. The Akigawa begins on Mount Mito in Hinohara village and joins the Tama River near where Akiruno, Hachioji, Fussa and Showa meet.

The view is fixed and shows a shallow channel winding between pale gravel bars and reed-covered banks. Low wooded hills and the roofs of houses close the horizon, so the frame reads as a quiet rural stretch of river.
