Weather and time

This camera watches the Hirai River from the bank beside Hirataka Bridge in Kusabana, Akiruno, Tokyo. A low concrete sill crosses the stream, and a flight of concrete steps climbs the right bank.

Kusabana is a district of Akiruno in western Tokyo, on the edge of the Tama hills. The Hirasawa quarter lies about 250 m to the south-west, and Kusabana Bridge carries a main road over the river roughly 300 m upstream. The Hirai River flows east from Hinode and joins the Tama River in Akiruno.

The river runs away from the camera between grassy, shrubby banks, with a long bridge deck and wooded hills at the far end of the view. A row of concrete blocks edges the right bank beside the steps, and the sill makes a short drop across the channel.
