Weather and time

This camera looks steeply down at the Yazawa River at Maruyama Bridge in Setagaya, where a narrow channel runs below a ribbed metal fence. A gauge staff stands against the fence beside a red flood-danger sign.

The station is in Nakamachi 4-chome, a quiet residential part of Setagaya near Kaminoge. Nakamachi Elementary School stands about 80 m to the south-east and Tamagawa Junior High School about 150 m in the same direction, while Komazawa Avenue passes roughly 150 m to the north. The Yazawa River rises from springs in Sakuragaoka and, after Nakamachi, runs through the Todoroki Valley to the Tama River at Tamazutsumi.

The frame shows the channel from directly above. Laid stone blocks line the foot of the fence, and the shallow water has a rubble bed and fallen leaves, while a thick hedge of ivy hangs over the top.
