Mount Fuji from Nihondaira Yume Terrace Live Cam

This camera on Nihondaira Yume Terrace in Shizuoka looks north over Shimizu and Suruga Bay to Mount Fuji, about 50 kilometres away. Container cranes of Shimizu Port line the water below green hills, and timber eaves frame the top of the picture.

Nihondaira is a hilltop of about 300 metres between central Shizuoka and the port of Shimizu, famous for its views of Fuji. Yume Terrace, a timber observation building designed by Kengo Kuma and Associates, opened on the summit in 2018. Its outdoor corridor circles the building and stays open all day.

The fixed frame keeps Fuji near the centre, with the wooded Miho Peninsula along the right edge and visitors often at the railing below. After dark the picture switches to black-and-white infrared, showing the lights of the city and the port.
