Toi Port Ferry Terminal, Izu Live Cam

This camera overlooks the ferry berth and vehicle lanes at Toi Port in the city of Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture. A green loading gantry stands at the water’s edge below a wooded headland, and this is where the ferry ties up.

Toi is a port town on the western coast of the Izu Peninsula. From its harbour a car ferry crosses Suruga Bay to Shimizu Port in the city of Shizuoka, linking the peninsula with the mainland shore across Japan’s deepest bay. Cars and foot passengers wait on the paved area in front of the berth before boarding.

The camera is fixed and looks across the wide paved area with marked lanes, past a red-brown railing along the quay, to open water with the low hills of the far shore on the horizon. When a ferry is in port, it lies alongside the gantry in the centre of the frame, so arrivals, loading and departures are easy to follow.
