Daimyomachi Intersection, Fukui Live Cam

This camera overlooks the Daimyomachi intersection, a wide junction where tram tracks cross the roads near the west exit of Fukui Station. Pedestrian crossings, overhead wires and a row of street trees in front of mid-rise office buildings fill the frame.

Daimyomachi is one of the main intersections in the centre of Fukui. The Fukui Railway tram line passes through it on its way between the station area and the northern and southern parts of the city. Fukui City Hall and the prefectural government district lie within a few hundred metres to the north-east, and the blocks around the station's west exit are being redeveloped.

From this height the whole junction is in view. Trams, buses and cars share the crossing through the day, long shadows fall over the tracks in the morning, and street lights pick out the roads after dark.
