San Rocco, Livigno Live Cam

This view looks along the Livigno valley from San Rocco, a hamlet on the edge of the town in Lombardy. A road with a roadside parking strip crosses the middle of the frame, with meadows, larch woods and the main part of Livigno stretching away into the distance.

San Rocco belongs to the municipality of Livigno, in the province of Sondrio in the Lombard Alps. The town stands at about 1,816 m in a valley roughly 15 km long, and the forested slope on the right of the frame carries the Mottolino ski runs. Cross-country ski trails run along the valley floor.

The camera is fixed and wide. A timber chalet with balconies stands at the left and a smaller house at the right, while a rocky summit rises over the forest in the centre of the horizon. In autumn the larches on the slope turn gold.
