Weather and time
This view shows Trepalle, a small mountain village in the municipality of Livigno, from a vantage point at about 2,100 m. Stone and white-walled houses stand on a green meadow in the foreground, with a bare mountain slope rising behind them.
Trepalle is in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy and is known as one of the highest villages in Italy that stay inhabited all year. The road over the Foscagno Pass runs through this valley and reaches Passo Eira at 2,208 m before descending to Livigno. Grass covers the slopes around the village.
The camera is fixed and looks across the lawn at the village houses, with a flagpole and a roofed information board beside a few larches in the foreground. More hamlets are scattered along the valley on the right, and rocky peaks show on the horizon beyond the long ridge.
