Piazzale Europa, Abetone Live Cam

Piazzale Europa is the main square at the Abetone Pass in the Tuscan Apennines, seen from a fixed camera facing north-east. The view covers the parking bays, the road over the pass and a forested ridge behind them.

The Abetone Pass lies at about 1,388 metres in the province of Pistoia and has long linked Tuscany with Emilia-Romagna. Today the village around it is a well-known ski resort of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The square sits right on the road at the top of the pass.

Blue-marked parking bays fill the foreground, with a pedestrian crossing and a tall street lamp in the middle. A paved terrace with a railing runs along the far side of the road, a small wooden shelter stands on the right, and older mountain-town buildings close the left edge. Dark conifer slopes and the long Apennine crest rise behind.
