Tamarack, Mammoth Lakes Live Cam

A paved forest road with a barrier gate and a Campground Closed sign runs between pines and sagebrush slopes at Tamarack near Twin Lakes. The picture also takes in a trailhead information board, a signpost and trees that hide the parking area beyond.

Tamarack is the area around Tamarack Lodge and the Tamarack Cross-Country Ski Center at the end of Twin Lakes Road, at about 8,600 feet in the Lakes Basin above the town of Mammoth Lakes. The center grooms Nordic trails around Twin Lakes in winter, and the lakeside roads serve hikers and anglers in summer.

The view is not fixed: in daytime frames from different hours it looks up the road toward the gate and the hillside, and at other times it turns toward the junction, the green trail board and the tree line. After dark the image turns grainy and grayscale.
