Mammoth Mountain Summit, Mammoth Lakes Live Cam

A tall signpost marks the summit area of Mammoth Mountain, with a wide view west to the jagged Minarets. A fenced viewing area curves along the edge, and a ridge with a small building rises on the right of the frame.

Mammoth Mountain is a volcanic peak above the town of Mammoth Lakes, and its top rises above 11,000 feet. The Panorama Gondola climbs here from Main Lodge by way of McCoy Station and ends at the summit station. The signpost names the mountain and points to Dave's Run, one of the runs that start at the top.

The view does not change, so the signpost, the fence and the horizon stay in the same place. The skyline is the Ritter Range, where the spires of the Minarets stand to the left of Mount Ritter and Banner Peak. Beyond the fence the ground falls away into forested valleys of the High Sierra.
