Fugang Fishing Port, Taitung Live Cam

This view over Fugang Fishing Port in Taitung follows a long concrete breakwater running out toward the open Pacific. A rubble slope in the foreground and a row of concrete blocks on the seaward side shelter the quiet harbor water.

Fugang Fishing Port, once known as Jialulan Harbor, lies about six kilometers from central Taitung City, beside the Amis settlement of Jialulan. It is regarded as the second largest fishing port in the county and a transfer point for boats to Green Island and Orchid Island.

The camera is fixed and looks along the breakwater from its root, so the composition stays the same through the day. Sheltered water fills the left side, open sea lies beyond the outer wall, and a low shoreline with a distant town runs along the horizon.
