Shanyuan Bay, Taitung Live Cam

This coastal view of Shanyuan Bay in Taitung shows a curving beach with surf, a rocky shore and a headland covered in palm trees. The camera turns between this beach scene, a red-roofed temple on the rocks and a wide look at the open sea.

Shanyuan Bay lies in Beinan Township along Provincial Highway 11, about twelve kilometers from central Taitung City. The half-moon bay has a gently sloping sand beach about 1.5 kilometers long and clear water. The Amis call it Fudafudak, meaning sparkling.

In the beach view, waves fold onto dark sand beneath a rocky point with dense palms above. The temple view shows a red, ornately roofed temple on the shore with small tents beside it and houses on the green hill behind. The third position looks straight out over the sea.
