Luye Highland, Taitung Live Cam

This camera looks out over the wide lawn of Luye Highland in Taitung County, the launch field of the Taiwan International Balloon Festival. Forested ridges rise behind the grass, which is crossed by curving paved paths.

Luye Highland is a tableland at about 350 metres above sea level in Luye Township, above the valley of the Beinan River. Since 2011 it has hosted the balloon festival every summer, with tethered rides and free-flight shows lifting off from this field. The rest of the year the lawn is an open park with walking paths and grassy slopes.

The camera turns between several views. Most often it faces the lawn and the mountains, but it also looks over a parking area, down to the braided gravel bed of the Beinan River, past a timber pavilion with visitors at the rail, and toward a shady corner with stalls and colourful grass sleds.
