Huayuan Sunrise Viewing Platform, Taimali Live Cam

This hillside viewing platform in Taimali looks down on Huayuan Bay, a long gray-sand beach with a railway and a coastal highway below. The camera turns between a wide coastal view and a look out over the open Pacific.

Huayuan is a small settlement in Taimali Township, Taitung County. The platform stands beside the old Provincial Highway 9, above the South-link Railway and the newer coastal highway. Facing the Pacific to the east, it is known as a place to watch the sunrise.

In the main view the railway leaves a tunnel mouth on the left, the highway crosses a short bridge below the slope, and the beach curves away toward a hazy town on the horizon. The second view looks over green treetops to open water with a palm in the foreground.
