Chukou Visitor Center, Fanlu Live Cam

This camera looks across the plaza in front of the Chukou Visitor Center in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County. The frame shows a concrete block with a Visitor Center sign, a dark coffee-shop wing and forested hills behind.

Chukou lies at the foot of the mountains, where Provincial Highway 18 starts its climb into the Alishan National Scenic Area. The visitor center was planned by architect Liao Wei-li to follow the terrain, and its concrete volume seems to float above the entrance level.

The camera moves between positions. In daylight it sweeps from the building to the driveway, where tour buses stop, and to forested ridges with higher mountains far behind; in the evening it stays on the building. The Niupuzai grassland with its art installations, about 600 m east, has a separate camera.
