Sanhe Night Market, Nantou City Live Cam

This fixed camera looks over a street junction in Nantou City, central Taiwan, where the Sanhe Night Market sets up every Wednesday. By day the frame shows a fruit shop, a large hardware and variety store, parked scooters and a traffic signal.

Nantou City is the seat of Nantou County, the only county in Taiwan without a coastline. Local media describe the market as a loop of about 600 metres with more than 100 stalls around a hypermarket, selling snacks such as twelve-filling spring rolls and crisp oyster omelettes. The camera stands near the corner of Gongyuan South Street and Sanhe 2nd Road.

The view runs up a straight street lined with shopfronts and parked cars. Early in the morning most shutters are down and the road is nearly empty, while on Wednesday evenings the same street fills with food stalls, tables and crowds.
