Changhua Plain from Baguashan, Yuanlin Live Cam

This camera on the Baguashan ridge looks west across the town of Yuanlin and the Changhua Plain in central Taiwan. The view takes in rooftops, farm fields and a high-speed rail viaduct at the foot of the ridge.

Baguashan is a long forested ridge along the eastern edge of the Changhua Plain, and Yuanlin is one of the larger towns at its western foot. From the slope the ground falls away through woodland to the Taiwan High Speed Rail line, beyond which fields and low buildings give way to the denser town centre. On clear days the Taiwan Strait shows as a flat band on the horizon.

The camera alternates between a wide panorama with a broad strip of sky and a tighter zoom on an elevated expressway curving through the fields. Because it faces west, the sun sets over the plain, and after dark the scene turns into town and road lights.
