Island City Habataki Park, Fukuoka Live Cam

This camera looks across the wetland of Island City Habataki Park in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka, where shallow pools lie among grass and reeds. Beyond the silver grass, houses climb a wooded hillside and a higher mountain ridge rises behind them.

Island City is a reclaimed island in Hakata Bay. The park takes up its northeastern corner and is built around a constructed freshwater wetland for wild birds and aquatic insects. The wetland itself is fenced off, and visitors watch from the paths at its edge. Black-winged stilts and black-faced spoonbills have been recorded here.

The camera does not keep one fixed frame: it moves between a wide view toward the hillside houses, closer shots of a red-roofed house above a bamboo thicket, and tight frames on a shallow pool in the reeds. After dark it may turn toward the water and the lights of the opposite shore.
