Les Grangettes, Lac Saint-Point Live Cam

Lac Saint-Point opens out below this webcam at Les Grangettes, in the Jura mountains of eastern France. The beach and lawn of the lakeside base fill the foreground, and wooded ridges close both sides of the lake.

Lac Saint-Point is among the largest natural lakes in France, roughly seven kilometres long in a glacial trough at about 850 metres. The water stays cold, and the shore is given over to a campsite, a swimming area and a sailing base.

The lake freezes in hard winters and is walked and skated on. In July and August the same grass in the frame is covered with towels and volleyball.
