Mississauga Celebration Square Live Cam

Celebration Square is the civic space at the middle of Mississauga, on the western edge of Toronto in Ontario. The camera looks across it at the art gallery and the civic centre.

The city grew from farms and villages to seven hundred thousand people in about fifty years, most of that under one mayor who held the office for thirty-six of them. The civic centre behind the square went up in 1987 as a deliberate attempt to give the place a middle.

The square is flooded for skating in winter and used for concerts and festivals through the summer. The twisted towers a few streets away, designed in 2006 and known locally by a nickname, have become the thing the city is recognised by.
