Turnerville Dry Canyon Live Cam

Dry Canyon opens onto Star Valley in the west of Wyoming, with the Salt River Range standing along behind it. The camera looks across the fields at the mouth of the canyon.

The name is literal: the creek that runs out of the canyon in spring disappears into the limestone before it reaches the valley floor, and the channel below is empty for most of the year.

The valley is dairy and hay country at about 1,800 metres, ringed by mountains on both sides. Elk come down out of them in hard winters, and the state runs feed grounds along this side to keep them off the ranchers' haystacks.
