Weather and time
This camera looks down from the slopes of Snow King Mountain over the town of Jackson, Wyoming, and the valley beyond. A chairlift line and the steel track of a mountain coaster run through the trees below.
Snow King rises right above the southeast edge of Jackson and is Wyoming's first ski area, with a summit at 7,808 feet and about 1,571 feet of vertical. In summer and autumn the mountain runs scenic chair rides, the Cowboy Coaster and an alpine slide, and in winter the slopes above town are open for skiing.
The mid-mountain angle sits between the base and the summit: a wood-sided coaster track climbs through the foreground at right, the chairs of the lift hang along the pines on the left, and the town fills the valley floor below a brown ridge. In autumn the aspens turn yellow, and low cloud often sits over the hills.
