Reading Outer Station, PA Live Cam

The platform at Reading Outer Station runs across this webcam view, on the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern line in Pennsylvania. A stainless-steel railcar stands at the platform, with heritage coaches in Reading livery on the track beside it.

The original Outer Station was built by the Philadelphia and Reading Railway in the nineteenth century and was one of the busiest stops in the region before the passenger network shrank. The line now runs excursion trains from here, and the yard around the platform is used to make them up.

Departures are seasonal, with autumn foliage trips and Christmas services the busiest. Between them the frame shows stock standing in the yard and the occasional shunting move.
