Logan Square and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway lie below this view in the centre of Philadelphia, in Pennsylvania. The columned Free Library and the courthouse face each other across the parkway, with the city towers behind them.

The parkway was cut diagonally through the grid in the 1910s on the model of a Parisian boulevard, connecting the city hall with the art museum at its far end. Logan Square, one of the five squares in the original plan of the city, sits halfway along it.

The stream comes from a science museum on the square. Parades and races use the parkway through the year and close the whole frame to traffic.
