Peregrine Falcon Nest Box Left Ledge, Brandywine Building, Wilmington Live Cam

This view shows the peregrine falcon nest box on the Brandywine Building in Wilmington, Delaware, from the corner with the ledge on the left. Beyond the ledge, a glass office tower and leafy residential streets stretch into the distance.

The Brandywine Building is a 19-story office tower at 1000 North West Street, about 260 feet tall, with the box on its top floor. Courtship starts in February, eggs come in March and April, and the young hatch and learn to fly in May and June. The City Center parking garage on 11th Street, across from the box, is the best spot to watch the first flights each spring.

From this corner the back wall with its round openings fills the right side, and the gravel scrape lies in the foreground. The camera in the opposite corner shows the ledge on the right and a mid-rise building complex instead of the tower.
