Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, PA Live Cam

The platform at Jim Thorpe runs across this webcam view, at the terminus of the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Pennsylvania. A train with a glass-roofed dome car waits below the lens, with parked cars and a wooded hillside behind it.

Excursions run north from here along the Lehigh River into the gorge, on track that was built to carry anthracite out of the mountains. The town, named after the athlete whose remains were moved here in 1954, kept its Victorian centre and the old station building beside this platform.

Autumn foliage trips and the Christmas services are the busiest of the year and fill the platform. Between departures the frame shows an empty train and the car park.
