Weather and time
Tracks of the Settle and Carlisle line curve past the end of the platform at Horton-in-Ribblesdale, where a siding branches off. That branch is the connection into Horton Quarry, a short distance south-west of the station.
Horton-in-Ribblesdale is a village in the Yorkshire Dales, North Yorkshire, and its station is on the Settle and Carlisle line. The quarry lost its rail link in 1965, and new loading sidings joined the main line in 2025, with the first trains in June. Loaded trains heading south reverse at Blea Moor.
The picture concentrates on the track layout: the points where the siding leaves the main line, a grey lineside cabinet and the stone-faced platform edge at the right. Moorland fields and lineside vegetation frame the curve beyond. Parts of the frame are masked by a black panel and a pixelated block.
