Weather and time
This camera looks into a nesting tray for peregrine falcons on the tower of Trinity Church in Ossett, a market town in West Yorkshire. The roofed tray holds a deep layer of gravel and stands on a walkway beside weathered stonework.
Trinity Church was designed by William Henry Crossland and built between 1862 and 1865 in the Gothic Revival style. Its central tower and octagonal stone spire rise to about 226 feet. Peregrines build no nests, so on tall buildings they lay their eggs in a shallow scrape, and a gravel tray keeps that spot dry and safe.
The close view from slightly above fills most of the frame with the gravel floor, the pale side panels and the dark overhanging roof of the tray. A strip of walkway and old stonework shows on the left, while a second camera on the tower watches the ledge above the tray.
