Marine Emporium Landing, Channel Islands Harbor Live Cam

This camera looks over a waterfront lawn at Marine Emporium Landing on the west side of Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, California. Beyond a promenade with lamp posts and a picnic table, rows of sailboats and motor yachts are moored along the docks.

Channel Islands Harbor, owned by Ventura County, was dedicated in 1965 and now has about 2,150 boat slips. Marine Emporium Landing was built from 1974 as a center for boaters and has three buildings with shops, offices and restaurants. Its slips are leased to charter boats offering whale watching, sportfishing and trips to Channel Islands National Park.

The camera hangs at the edge of a roof, so the building wall and a floodlight fill the right side of the frame. Paths cross the lawn to the water's edge, and further back more masts, palm trees and a distant mountain ridge line the top of the picture.
