Guide Dogs of America Puppy Kennel, Sylmar Live Cam

This camera watches a puppy kennel run on the Guide Dogs of America campus in Sylmar, in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Black and yellow Labrador puppies nap on soft blankets, chew toys and trot through a small doorway that leads to an outdoor run.

Guide Dogs of America breeds, raises and trains guide dogs for people who are blind or visually impaired, free of charge. Founded in 1948 as International Guiding Eyes, it took its current name in 1992. Puppies are born on the 7-acre campus and later spend over a year with volunteer puppy raisers.

Litters are moved between kennel runs every day so that each run can be disinfected, which is why the bedding and toys change from day to day. The view shifts from wide shots with steel water bowls and fabric bunting on the wall to close-ups of sleeping pups.
