LAX Airfield Apron, Los Angeles Live Cam

This fixed view looks across an apron at Los Angeles International Airport, with airliners standing at the gates beyond a construction site. Taxiways, open airfield and a low skyline fill the background of the frame.

Los Angeles International Airport lies on the Pacific coast in the Westchester neighborhood, southwest of downtown, and is one of the busiest airports in the United States. Jets from several carriers park along the gate line, and a long barrier wall separates the apron from a large work zone.

The foreground is a fenced construction area with excavators, trucks and stacked materials. The framing does not change, so the progress of the works and the turnover of aircraft at the gates can be followed day by day, unlike the runway-end views of the airport.
