Weather and time
This camera looks out from the shore of a marina in Malletts Bay, Colchester, over floating docks, moored sailboats and Lake Champlain. Metal gangways on wooden pilings lead from a rocky bank down to the piers, and wooded hills line the far shore.
Malletts Bay is a sheltered arm of Lake Champlain on the Vermont shore, just north of Burlington. A rock causeway on a former railroad bed runs across its mouth and divides the inner bay from the broad lake. Sailing, paddling and fishing are popular here, and several marinas line the shore.
Sailboats cluster to the left and powerboats sit in the slips to the right, while the clear water near the bank shows the stony lake bed. At times a blue travel lift straddles the slip in the foreground to haul out or launch a boat. A panel in the upper corner shows the local temperature and forecast.
