Weather and time
This camera at the Single Chair mid-station of Mad River Glen in Fayston, Vermont, looks down the lift line toward the valley. Teal lift towers, single chairs and the steel frame of the station fill the foreground, with forested hills spreading beyond.
The Single Chair is a chairlift with one seat per chair, first opened in 1948 on General Stark Mountain. The mid-station stands partway up its line at about 2,900 feet (890 m) above sea level, so the Mad River Valley and the buildings of the base area lie far below.
The camera does not stay on one view. Other stops include the wooden loading deck under a corrugated metal roof, the lift line climbing the slope above the station, a ridge line of distant mountains over the spruce tops, and a green post carrying a dial thermometer.
