Weather and time

This camera at the Main Base Area of Bolton Valley, a ski resort in Bolton, Vermont, looks uphill from the foot of the mountain. A green chairlift terminal stands beside a gravel road, with a grassy slope and a wooded ridge rising behind it.

Bolton Valley was founded in 1966 and lies in Chittenden County, about 18 miles east of Burlington. The Vista Quad, built in 2005, is the main lift out of the base area, and the resort has six lifts in all.

The camera does not move: it stays on the lift terminal, a tall lamp pole and the hillside above, with a dark building at the left edge. Outside the ski season the slope is mown grass, the road is bare gravel, and the birches along it stand leafless in late autumn.
