Weather and time
At Davisville in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, the camera looks from a quiet road across a tall chain-link fence to the Northeast Corridor. Behind the fence run electrified tracks under a steel catenary gantry, with trees and a second road beyond.
Davisville is a village in North Kingstown, on the Amtrak line between Boston and New York. Besides Amtrak and MBTA commuter service, a freight track links the main line with the Davisville rail yard that serves the Quonset port and industrial area. The corridor here is electrified, so the overhead wires follow the rails through the whole frame.
The camera is fixed and looks across the road toward the tracks. The roadside fills the lower part of the picture, the fence and rails the middle, and a stand of trees with red autumn leaves the background. At night a streetlight glows over the fence.
