This camera looks across Grand Avenue to Falmouth Heights Beach in Falmouth, Cape Cod, with Vineyard Sound stretching to the horizon. A crosswalk, a strip of lawn and a small garden with benches separate the road from the sand.

Falmouth Heights is a seaside neighbourhood on the south shore of Falmouth, the town at the south-western corner of Cape Cod. Its public beach runs along Grand Avenue, and Martha's Vineyard lies about 7 km to the south across the sound. The Falmouth Road Race, a 7-mile run from Woods Hole, finishes beside this beach.

The camera faces south-southeast over the western part of the beach, with rock jetties in the water and a white beachfront building on the right. On clear days the low shoreline of Martha's Vineyard marks the horizon, and around midday the sun shines straight ahead across the water.
