Bald Eagle Nest and Creek, Bluff City, Tennessee Live Cam

This view shows a bald eagle nest in Bluff City, Tennessee, with a shallow creek and its leafy banks behind the rim. Pale-barked trunks rise on either side of the stick bowl, which fills the lower half of the frame.

Bluff City is a small town in Sullivan County, northeast Tennessee, on the South Holston River near the upper end of Boone Lake. Bald eagles have nested in this area since 2011, on private land. In 2018 the pair left their old nest after raccoons raided it and built a new one nearby, and the cameras were later moved to follow them.

This camera sees the nest from the side and slightly above, so the rim, the bowl and the bright patches of water in the creek bed beyond fit in one frame. The framing shifts only a little from day to day. In mid-October frames the bowl is empty, with an adult eagle perching on the rim now and then.
