Little Carpathians from Vajnory Live Cam

This camera in Vajnory, a borough in the north-east of Bratislava, looks across fields to the long wooded ridge of the Little Carpathians. Tiled roofs and tall conifers stand in the foreground, and the ridge stretches across the whole frame.

The Little Carpathians are a low range about 100 kilometres long, running north-east from Bratislava to Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Broad-leaved forest covers most of the hills, and vineyards spread over their south-eastern slopes. Vajnory was a wine-growing village before it became a borough of Bratislava in 1946, and Slovakia's first airport operated here until 2006.

Unlike views from the city centre, this camera looks out from the edge of Bratislava, where houses give way to farmland. The ridge is highest on the left and slopes gently down to the right, with a wide sky above it.
