Praia da Rocha Portimão, Algarve Live Cam

Praia da Rocha runs across this webcam view at Portimão, in the Faro district on the Algarve coast of Portugal. Umbrellas cover the sand in rows, sandstone stacks stand at the left of the frame, and the sea is flat blue beyond.

The beach takes its name from those rock formations, which stand on the sand and in the shallows along the whole strip. At the eastern end the Santa Catarina fort guards the mouth of the Arade river, where the marina and the fishing harbour of Portimão are.

In July and August the sand disappears under umbrellas from morning onwards. Out of season the same beach is walkers and the pier out to the small lighthouse.
