Ponte 25 de Abril (Escala25), Lisbon Live Cam

Escala25 is an outdoor climbing gym set underneath the Ponte 25 de Abril in Lisbon, and its walls face this view. The panels stand in the shade of the bridge deck, with routes marked out in red and blue holds.

The site has a twelve-metre wall, an arch with overhanging routes and several auto belay systems, and it works with the bridge structure as its roof. The bridge itself carries road and rail traffic across the Tagus and is one of the loudest places in the city to climb.

Use picks up in the late afternoon and at weekends, when routes are busy and belayers stand along the base. Unlike the other Lisbon cameras here, which look over the river and the old town, this one stays on a single wall.
