Lisbon Old Town Live Cam

From a rooftop in Alfama the view runs south over the tiled roofs of old Lisbon towards the Tagus estuary. A construction crane stands in the middle of the frame, and cargo ships move across the water on their way to and from the Atlantic.

The stream alternates with a second view turned inland towards São Jorge Castle, the walled hilltop fortress above the same district. The castle keeps eleven towers and an archaeological site inside its walls; the hill it stands on has been fortified since long before the eleventh-century Moorish castle that survives today.

The picture carries the operator's overlay with a compass rose and the current Lisbon temperature. The estuary widens towards the left of the frame, and in the afternoon the light comes off the water straight into the lens.
