Sereia Beach Live Cam

Praia da Sereia is packed with umbrellas end to end in this view down the Costa da Caparica, on the Atlantic south of Lisbon. A lifeguard station stands in the middle of the sand.

The coast runs about thirty kilometres in one unbroken strip, the longest continuous beach in Portugal, backed by low dunes the whole way. Open ocean swell reaches it directly, so the flags and the lifeguards matter here.

A narrow-gauge railway carries passengers along the dunes to the further beaches through the summer. Lisbon is twenty minutes away across the Tagus by the 25 de Abril bridge, which is what fills this sand at weekends. The camera turns along the shore and reaches the dunes at either end of the frame.
