Fonte da Telha Beach Live Cam

Fonte da Telha lies at the south end of the long sand of Costa da Caparica, on the Atlantic coast opposite Lisbon in Portugal. The camera looks along an almost empty stretch toward the headland closing the bay.

Behind the beach rises the Arriba Fóssil, a fossil cliff of soft yellow rock that once stood at the waterline and is now a protected landscape. Pine and scrub hold the top of it, and paths cut down through the gullies.

In summer a narrow-gauge train called the Transpraia runs the length of the beaches from Costa da Caparica down to this point, stopping wherever anyone gets off. Restaurants on stilts sit at the top of the sand, and the swell here is heavier than in the Tagus estuary.
