Weather and time
This camera looks north along Hoshidani Bridge, a long and narrow crossing over the Katsuura River in the town of Katsuura, Tokushima. Its concrete deck has no railings, only low curbs lined with white marker posts.
Katsuura is a small town among wooded hills in eastern Shikoku, known for mandarin oranges and a large Hina doll festival held from February into early April. The bridge links the Ikuna district on the south bank, where the camera stands, with Hoshidani on the north side. The Hina no Sato Katsuura roadside station lies a short walk to the south.
The view follows the deck all the way to the far bank, where a road passes houses at the foot of a forested slope. Reeds and shrubs cover the floodplain on both sides, and a 30 km/h sign marks the entrance. After dark, a lamp and the reflective posts trace the line of the bridge.
