Hidaka River at Heiwa Bridge, Hidakagawa Live Cam

This camera looks upstream from the left bank of the Hidaka River at Heiwa Bridge in Hidakagawa, Wakayama Prefecture. A long concrete bridge on two piers crosses a shallow, rocky stretch of the river below forested hills.

The Hidaka rises near Mount Gomadan and reaches the Kii Channel at Gobo. Here, in the Kumanogawa district of Hidakagawa town, it winds through a narrow valley below Tsubakiyama Dam, and National Route 424 follows the left bank. The district name has nothing to do with the large Kumano River near Shingu.

The view is fixed. Both piers carry tall white boards, a gravel bar splits the current into riffles in the foreground, houses stand at the far end of the bridge, and a guardrail runs along the road at the lower right.
