Yamato River Levee, Matsubara Live Cam

This view looks east along a grassy levee beside the Yamato River in Matsubara, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. A narrow footpath runs through the floodplain grass toward a long elevated bridge, with a tall chimney and an arched-roof industrial complex on the right.

The Yamato River runs from east to west across the Osaka plain toward Osaka Bay, and on this stretch Matsubara lies on its south bank. The floodplain with tall grass lies to the left of the path, and the levee slope rises on the right. Beyond the bridge a line of low hills closes the horizon.

The camera looks along the river rather than across it, so the main subjects are the levee, the long bridge and the buildings on the south side, not the water. The view is fixed, so the sky and the floodplain grass are what change through the seasons.
