Weather and time
This fixed view shows a concrete-lined section of the Higashiyoke River in Matsubara, Osaka Prefecture, near Obori. Water churns over a low step in the channel in front of a road bridge, with an elevated roadway behind it.
The Higashiyoke River begins at Sayama Pond and flows north through built-up areas, including Matsubara and Habikino, before it reaches the Yamato River. The camera is near Obori Kami-kobashi Bridge in the Obori district of Matsubara, where houses and roads crowd close to the water.
A tall retaining wall of concrete blocks with a metal fence along its top fills the left side, while a pink guard rail and sloping bank run along the right. A sign at an underpass beside the channel warns of a 2.7 m height limit. Below the step, the water spreads out between the walls before it flows past the camera.
